Hi,
In order to
Getting PHP5 working was pretty painless on Debian
once I sorted out the details. I'll start with
configuring nginx php and Yaws.
Preliminary steps.
1a. You must run php-cgi. In my case, "apt-get
install php5-cgi" installs it.
1b. In the cgi/php.ini be sure you modify it to pick
up any modules like mysql, odbc, pgsql, etc.
2a. I run yaws on 8080 and have nginx reverse proxying
from http://mydomain:80 to 8080. Yaws won't run as a
low-privilege user if you want it to listen on port
80.
2b. nginx.conf needs the following directives:
server {
listen 80;
server_name yourdomain.com;
access_log /path/to/access/log.log
location / {
proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8080;
proxy_redirect default;
}
}
You should probably put in the error_page options as
shown in the conf file. You can comment out the index
directives.
3a. add the following to /etc/yaws/yaws.conf
php_exe_path = /usr/bin/php-cgi
3b. In <server 127.0.0.1> you need to add
allowed_scripts = yaws php cgi
3c. Check the rest of the <server 127.0.0.1>
directives and make sure the docroot is good.
4. Restart both yaws and nginx. You should be good to
go.
I've got etomite running on it right now and will move
my drupal over from apache2 as soon as I get etomite
working right.
