< Erlang ~ Include path problems with rebar and emacs |

I have spent nearly three hours, yes THREE HOURS and I am nowhere further down the road other than realising that sitting at a computer all day is not a good job to have some days. Most days in fact.
I have a file, that file includes an "hrl" file with some record definitions. If I build from with emacs it compiles, if I "rebar compile" I get this message:
src/sustore.erl:38: field wibbly_wobble undefined in record recDBConfig
the field I tried to create was called "backend" but I am now reduced to re-creaeting the problem and a dumbass name seemed appropriate. Either way, C-c C-k from emacs builds it fine, but rebar compile always fails. There is only one definition in one HRL file so what could be wrong I wonder?
and it's driving me mad. I cannot see what is going wrong. All the other files build just fine but I added a new field called "backend" to my configuration record so I can switch between using "emysql" and "mongodb". I thought it would be simple. I've read my Joe book , everything. Still confused!
I've used plenty of other records in other files and there are no such problems as this one, it really is driving me mad. I have attached a ZIP file containing the HRL file and the itinerant ERL file as well if anybody cares to take a look; I daren't post the whole project as it is work related... but if it comes to it!
HELP!
