Hi gentlepeople,

As mentioned in the Erlang + vim topic, I'm not going to fan flames about favorite editors, that path leads to charred egos and not much else.

One reason I'm posting is to offer Yet Another Option(tm) for those seeking an editor, and to collect criticism about the Erlang lexer I wrote for SciTE that produces syntax highlighting. I know it has bugs, and I want to squash them, so please tell me which you consider to be the most annoying.

Another reason is to develop tigher integration with the Erlang runtime to enable easier development of applications using SciTE, possibly taking advantage of the embedded Lua interpreter. At the moment I use a collection of bash scripts and makefiles to write-compile-test-run my programs. There *is* a better way, and I would enjoy hearing your views.

Pete.

What do you actually want to do with lua? Have you achieved anything already?

No, I haven't done anything specific with Lua yet, but I plan to write code-reformatting and refactoring tools for Scite to begin with.

This may be some time coming, I seem to be quite busy these days: new job + 2 young children keep me out of trouble!

Pete.

Could you describe your ideas about this "refactoring and reformatting"? I'm not very familiar with Lua but SciTE seems to be very nice tool, but some imporovements could be done to meke it even better choice for Erlang programming (and a lot less time and memory consuming comparing to ErlIDE with all its Java and Eclipse stuff)
