Hello !
For one thing I don't think it is wise to call the nodes pong and ping respectively if the functions have the same names. I suggest to give the nodes some other fantasy names.
Speaking of node-names I think that it deserves mention that these names must not contain hyphens or otherwise should be put in apostrophes. Otherwise they can't be referenced from other shells. I stumbled over this, another person has reported a bug in this regard but I think it is a documentation problem.
If the fact is documented already than the tutorial should point to this place.
It is also a problem for new users when they start nodes on an isolated windows Notebook with 'erl -name anyname' and not with -sname. The punishment is an error message which says that the configuration should be corrected, but in which way ?
[Sorry , can't describe it more exact at the momentb because I don't have this box at hands. If the box is on a net everything is fine.]
