Hi Sam,
we may be able to assist,
we are running several serverss for the financial sectors and have some spare
capacity on a few. YAWS and Erlang are standard (we are also a MySQL
partner) - and our offices and co-location is Verizon backbone based.

Virtual private servers are cheap and allow you to decide what
software to run. They tend to be a bit small in ram, but yaws do not
require much. Data storage for mnesia can be a bigger problem as you
typically just get at most a gb or two for the low end virtual private
servers, and you need to fit the os and programs in that too.

I would think this is some thing important to moving erlang more to the mainstream. It would be cool to have cheep or even free web hosting similar to google app engine ... scale forever ... pay for what you use.
How hard do you think some thing like this would be to set up? And how many people would be interested? |

| I just checked out the worldtophost.com and i must say that i found some very interesting info there. The shared web hosting company IX WebHosting looks very promising. I think I'll take a closer look with that one, might try it out for a domain. |

Yes most virtual servers could let you use software in your choice. You can try them because hey are also cheaper. Most beginners on web development are using them to start.
