Hello all,
there seems to be a certain amount of spam in , especially in the YEAS Mailing List. Is it possible to remove or filter it ?

[ I fear it is manual work ] Sad

Hello norbertk and Merry Christmas.

I am regulary removing spam. It seems that the spam is auto generated. I think this is a result of we using phpBB.

I thinkt that som custom code on the register page would stop the automated registrations. And also the automated SPAM.

The e-mail account for the Jabber mailing list seems to have leaked. We will fix this shortly.

SPAMMERS make me angry. I have many Ideas on how to address the issue. But many of my ideas has to do with creating a own forum/wiki solution instead.

Is there a yawsBB project?

I think, the forum could benefit from both, a SPAM filter (maybe a simple regular-expression-based one) and a report function.

Unlike a wiki, a forum can not be kept clean by its users directly. So give us a way to report SPAM in a fast and simple manner and we will do so.

I think this has something to do with using phpbb. I also frequently remove spam addresses though they still keep coming up. I think there is an automated registration that lets them to be added.

It really is hard to filter spammers as they have been pretty advanced in getting to register. I remember talking to an expert that seeing captcha makes them happy.
