<  Advanced Erlang/OTP  ~  Starting Erlang VM as a separate thread

Hi,

I'm aware that arbitrary C code can be started in a separate thread as a port. However, can the erlang VM be started from a C process (probably in its own thread and handling its own threads) just as the JVM can? Removing the process separation *and* giving control to the other application can come quite handy at times.
