The trapexit.org logo could be improved a lot. So bring up your Gimp
and create a new one. We could have a poll for the winner...I belive
this is possible with phpBB

I've got no artistic ability for creating a logo, so my contribution will have to be limited to brainstorming. Here's an idea for anyone out there that can draw: A number of salmon swimming in a circle.
The symbolism involved:
a) A SCHOOL of fish symbolizing where we gather to teach and learn from each other.
b) Salmon is a fish that's well known for its spawning habits, reflecting erlang's prolific use of process spawning.
c) The never-ending circle representing the fault tolerance that's designed into erlang.
Maybe they could be swimming around a lowercase 'e' to borrow from the logo on the erlang.org site? |

Reminds me about a post from Klacke which Carl Wilhelm had found on alt.com.ai (or similar). (Klacke and Carl are ex Computer Science Lab, where Erlang was invented).
It was about a scientist who took a fish out of an aquarium, operated away part of his brain and put the it back in the tank. The scientist soon noticed that the fish started swimming in one direction until it hit the glass. It turned around, and started swimming in the opposite direction in a very determined way until it hit the glass again. The fish was so determined and did not give up in its quest that all the other fish in the tank started following him, also banging their heads whenever they hit the walls of the aquarium.
This example was often used when discussing the Java hysterics which overshadowed many of Erlang's successes back in the mid 90s when Ericsson would not allow us to release the language as OS... So I have my doubts if a fish in the Logo would not be welcomed by the old timers. But you could try
